Mission

Housing transforms lives. Affordable housing is not only a necessity but also a springboard for financial security.  We provide opportunities for low-income residents of Bucks County, especially single women who are heads of their household, to stabilize their lives and achieve their dreams.

Joe Baumhauer

A. Joseph Baumhauer was born and raised in Philadelphia and developed an interest in architecture and the building trades early in life.

He attended Drexel University and Bucks County Community College. He was a member of the United States Air Force Reserve. His early career was varied working in plant engineering, naval architecture, excavating and landscaping. In the early 70s, he found his passion in kitchen design spending forty years designing and building custom kitchens under the auspices of his own company, Baumhauer’s Kitchen-Bath Design Center, with his wife Carol. Joseph has served on several civic and philanthropic boards, including the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce, Upper Bucks Regional EMS, and as Scholarship Chairman for a fraternal organization. 

Kathy Beveridge

Kathleen Welsh Beveridge has more than 30 years of experience in leadership in the nonprofit sector.

A graduate of the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business with a master’s degree in nonprofit administration, Kathy established her own consulting firm, Spark Nonprofit Consulting, in 2009 to support nonprofit leaders in their strategy setting, capacity building, community engagement, board building, and fund development efforts. Kathy’s results-oriented development experience at top-tier universities enables her to apply the full spectrum of cutting-edge strategies to help nonprofit organizations raise more money for their mission. Her experience as an Executive Director of a small nonprofit enables her to understand the need to do more with less and to craft strategies that leverage the limited resources of small and medium-sized nonprofits. Finally, Kathy’s significant experience in start-up situations gives her an excellent perspective on activities that generate community engagement and support and build the capacity of nonprofit organizations. Kathy has served as an active volunteer with a number of local nonprofits including the Bucks County Women’s Advocacy Coalition and the League of Women Voters of Bucks County. She is a long-time resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Judith Fraivillig

Dr. Judith Fraivillig is a recognized leader in math education and an innovator deeply committed to helping schools, teachers, parents, and children.

During her 22 years as a tenured professor at Rider University, Dr. Fraivillig secured grant funding of over $2.3M to support multiple innovative programs. Her most impactful program was featured on CNN Money and at the White House during the Obama administration where Dr. Fraivillig was invited to an event recognizing innovators in education.  Dr. Fraivillig holds a Ph.D. in mathematics education from Northwestern University and earned a Master’s in Science Education and a Bachelor’s in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sophia Wisniewska

Dr. Sophia Wisniewska retired from a career as a university administrator including as a former chancellor of Pennsylvania State Brandywine.

Dr. Sophia Wisniewska’s administrative portfolio includes three decades of visionary leadership in higher education at Penn State, Temple University, University of South Florida, and University of San Diego where her signature accomplishments have been the development of strategic plans, creation of innovative academic programs, fiscal management, and vigorous resource development. Dr. Wisniewska is a scholar of Russian language and literature with extensive experience in key leadership positions in the Penn State System. She joined USF St. Petersburg after eight years as chancellor of Penn State Brandywine. Prior to her service at Penn State, she served six years as dean and chief executive officer at Temple University Ambler. Prior to her service at Temple, she spent 21 years at Penn State University, with positions at University Park, Great Valley, Abington and Berks campuses. She also taught Russian language and literature at Bryn Mawr College.
