As a new nonprofit organization, we were delighted to find that our intention to increase the supply of affordable rental housing in Bucks County resonated with people beyond our founding board members. In our first attempt to present our vision for Angel Housing Solutions to the public, we were successful to the tune of $14,400 for our mission.
Three Angel Housing Solutions board members (pictured from left to right: Joe Baumhauer, Kathy Beveridge, and Sophia Wisniewska) participated in the 100+ Women Who Care Bucks County charity competition in March 2024. Also pictured are Linda Penrod (second from right) who nominated us for this opportunity and Lynne Kelleher who founded the Bucks County chapter of 100+ Women Who Care. Votes from members of the chapter generated $9,456 in donations which was partially matched by a grant from the Richard M. Schulze Foundation. These funds were used toward the purchase of our first property on October 1, 2025.
Angel Housing also received a grant of $20,000 in June from the Philadelphia Foundation’s Sandra C. Lesser Fund to support general operations. Mrs. Lesser cared a great deal about helping needy families, particularly those with young children. We believe she would be pleased to know that Angel Housing Solutions will soon provide stable, affordable housing for a family in need.
We are so grateful for these grants which are helping us deliver on our critical mission promise for families in Bucks County. While we know we cannot solve the massive problem of the lack of affordable housing here in Bucks, we are delighted to be able to help one family at a time.
